There has been great concern in the community about safety on the buses in Aurora and Denver, particularly on Bus 15

Clients at the satellite office at Aurora Mental Health, North Branch created the
"Safety on Buses Coaltion"
They represent individuals with disability who use Bus 15 on a daily basis.

A Research Team was created
and team mebers began recording the date and time of safety issues they experienced on the bus.
Just a few of the incidents they witnessed are listed to the right

Community stakeholders became involved including individuals who depend on the bus for transportation as well as businesses in the area and individuals who live in the area

Some of  the Incidents Witnessed on the Buses
by
The Coalition's Research Team

Bus was standing room only.  This guy started a verbal fight with the bus driver.  He spit on the bus driver cussing him out and then got off of the bus.

Person in wheelchair was turned away due to the bus being overcrowded.

Man was masturbating in the front seat.

Bus driver told me he was threatened last week because he wouldn’t let the kid off at a non-stop.  Kid threatened to cap the blank blank bus driver.

When I got on the bus, around the third seat a young man grabbed my arm and told me to sit on his lap.  I was afraid.  I couldn’t hardly wait to get off of the bus.
